Steps to Buying a Home

There are several things to consider when starting the process of buying a home! Here are the most basic steps and some great links to help!

Determine your budget:Take a hard look at your finances and figure out how much you can afford to spend on a home. Consult with a financial advisor if necessary to get an accurate picture of your finances.

Find a Realtor: Work with a qualified agent who can help you navigate the homebuying process, negotiate offers, and help you find your dream home.

Get pre-approved for a mortgage: Contact a lender to find out how much they are willing to lend you based on your income, credit score, and other factors. This will help you know what price range of homes you should be looking at.

Start house hunting: Use online tools and work with your  Realtor to find homes that meet your criteria.

Make an offer: Once you find a home you like, work with your Realtor to make a competitive offer.

Close the deal: Once your offer is accepted, work with your lender, real estate agent, and other professionals to finalize the purchase of your home.
