Talk Like A Pirate Day - September 19

Coach Holtz must have been practicing for this weeks' annual Talk Like A Pirate Day. Can I just tell you it is becoming really stressful to get ready for Sunday morning when my Saturdays are this stressful!!! I'm just glad I prepare sermons early in the week when my Pirates play like they did today in their 28-24 win at Tulane. Tulane is better than the score suggests (just look at their game at Alabama last week. Hopefully the Pirates understand how to go about with a target on their back. I certainly do!

Get ready for some changes on the site! ;)

Quote of the night:

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArgh" - my mom!

You know, my congregation is having a retreat next weekend, commencing on Friday, the esteemed International Talk Like a Pirate Day. I'm still working on convincing everyone else that we need to observe this sacred holiday - I'm just not sure whether it's best observed in the small groups or in the large group Bible study sessions...

BTW, congrats to date on ECU's season - and more importantly, on the new church launch!

I would think the small group would be the place to begin to practice the simple phrases. Then you could allow them the chance to do so in unison as part of the large group sessions.

I'll let you determine which phrases and words would be deemed appropriate in congregational responses! ;)

Thanks too for the kudos.
